Sequencing Answer (3/26)

91

For those of you looking for a solidly mathematical answer, my apologies. As you may have guessed, the first digit in the two-digit number is 9. Each first digit is simply adding 1 to the previous first digit. The second digit is how many enclosed spots the first digit has in it and in this case it's 1. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 have no enclosed spots when you type the number (though I'm sure some fonts would list an unenclosed 4 in this group); 4, 6, and 9 have one enclosed spot; and 8 has two enclosed spots.

The sequence would continue as such: 10, 20, 30, 41, 50, 61, 70, 82, 91, 101, 110, 120, 130, 141, 150, 161, 170, 182, 191, 201, etc.

The first number in the sequence to have a different last digit would be be 483.

Prime Gum Answer (3/16)

The price of one stick of gum was 13 cents.

This would make my leftover change after the first purchase 37 cents. After two more purchases, the leftover change would be 11 cents, no longer giving me the buying power for more.
